Nancy asks…Can you name a few members of the opposite political party you respect?Too often we polorize ourselves.
In the spirit of healing I wish for people to name two or 3 members of the opposing political party they respect. Maybe not agree with but respect.
I will go first, I am a democratic but I highly respect Ed Rollins,Michael Bloomberg, and Olympia Snowe.Political News Writer answers:Colin Powell, Olympia Snow, Michael Bloomberg.
I’m in California and have seen first hand Arnold’s job as Governor and have mixed feelings. He has done well to stimulate business. He has been great for the environment. I don’t like how he has handled education (especially funding) and he didn’t keep the promises he made with teachers. But he has been improving and learning.
What a great question! I like focusing on the commonalities because we are all American and want our country to be the best it can be.Laura asks…What do you think will happen to the 2008 Presidential race if Bloomberg enters as and Independent?New York city Mayor, Michael Bloomberg has recently announced that he is changing political parties. Although he has denied that he is running, but most political observers say these are the first steps towards a formal announcement of candidacy. He has major bank and polls shows he can beat Giuliani and Hilary!?!Political News Writer answers:I think it would be a good thing if he were elected.
I also think that he’s not really changing parties, but was never either one to begin with. He needed party affiliation to get to where he is now, but no longer needs it.
I think he is more middle of the road, and is exactly what this country needs right now.
